Astrologer’s Diary Sunday 10th February – Saturday 16th February

Saturday 16th February

I had a good time at Holt Mind Body Spirit Fair. It was my first Spiritual Flow fair of the year and it was lovely to meet up with old friends again and to meet some new people too. I had some new astrology reading cards for Christmas and they went down well.

I’m off to this event tomorrow – Saturday 16 February 10am- 4pm

The Spiritual Flow Mind Body Spirit Event
Holt Community Centre Kerridge Way Holt NR25 6DN Norfolk
The event is free to attend

I will be offering mini astrology readings and astro card readings.I’m looking forward to it, it’s my first fair of 2019. I hope to see you there.

Thursday 14th February

It’s Valentine’s Day. Wishing you a day when your heart’s desires come true! I’d like to share this Valentine’s Day card with you. It is from artist LIzz Lunney who my husband follows. She has been doing a series of Zodiac cards and this Valentines one is her most recent.

Today in astrology, Mars planet of passion and drive, is moving from his own sign of go getting Aries into the steadier, sensual earth sign of Taurus. Time to slow down and smell the roses – or maybe hyacinths this time of year!

Wednesday 13th February

Good morning, today Mars, planet of assertion and action and Uranus, planet of rebellion and surprises are both at the 29th degree of Aries. This is the last degree and astrologers call this the anaretic degree. When planets are at this degree, there is a sense of urgency and tension. as they are about to move to the next sign. Mars is going into Taurus tomorrow and Uranus moves into Taurus on 6th March. Added to this, Mars and Uranus are an impulsive and unpredictable combination. So expect the unexpected today and if possible, allow yourself a bit more time than usual to respond to what is happening and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Good luck. I’m off to do a talk ‘Zip Round the Zodiac’.

Tuesday 12th  February 2019

Wasn’t it beautiful this morning? Frosty mornings always remind me of one of my favourite poems; The Horses by Ted Hughes.

I was introduced to it at school when I was about fifteen and it has always stayed with me.

Ted Hughes, The Horses

I climbed through woods in the hour-before-dawn dark.
Evil air, a frost-making stillness,

Not a leaf, not a bird –
A world cast in frost. I came out above the wood

Where my breath left tortuous statues in the iron light.
But the valleys were draining the darkness

Till the moorline – blackening dregs of the brightening grey –
Halved the sky ahead. And I saw the horses:

Huge in the dense grey – ten together –
Megalith-still. They breathed, making no move,

with draped manes and tilted hind-hooves,
Making no sound.

I passed: not one snorted or jerked its head.
Grey silent fragments

Of a grey silent world.

I listened in emptiness on the moor-ridge.
The curlew’s tear turned its edge on the silence.

Slowly detail leafed from the darkness. Then the sun
Orange, red, red erupted

Silently, and splitting to its core tore and flung cloud,
Shook the gulf open, showed blue,

And the big planets hanging –
I turned

Stumbling in the fever of a dream, down towards
The dark woods, from the kindling tops,

And came to the horses.
There, still they stood,
But now steaming and glistening under the flow of light,

Their draped stone manes, their tilted hind-hooves
Stirring under a thaw while all around them

The frost showed its fires. But still they made no sound.
Not one snorted or stamped,

Their hung heads patient as the horizons,
High over valleys in the red levelling rays –

In din of crowded streets, going among the years, the faces,
May I still meet my memory in so lonely a place

Between the streams and the red clouds, hearing the curlews,
Hearing the horizons endure.

Sunday 10th February

Wow, that was a windy, lively day yesterday. My hubby and I threw ourselves into a bracing ( very cold) walk on Weybourne beach. I was really appreciative to get back to our cosy car, warm flask and sandwiches, we are true Brits you know! Or has he says, old farts! 😉

Today, Mercury planet of communication is moving into dreamy imaginative Pisces. Astrologically, Mercury is fast and light and likes to analyse so it is not happy in Pisces which is intuitive and instinctual. So confusions and misunderstandings may occur. However, the upside is that this is a good time to use your imagination and intuition and go with the flow.
Weybourne beach from the cliff. This picture doesn’t show how much I was being buffeted as I took it!

Astrologer’s Diary – Sunday 3rd February- Saturday 9th February 2019

Saturday 9th February

Valentine’s Day  is fast approaching, it will be here on Thursday 14th February! So why not use astrology to help you find a gift for your loved one?

No photo description available.

Valentine’s ideas – through the zodiac

Aries – March 20th – April 19th

These folks are usually active and like to be first, they also enjoy excitement; so how about something adventurous like a day or a trip to a theme park to embrace their inner child and scream like a girl on the big rides! If they are not quite so outdoorsy they may prefer a shopping trip to get the first edition of their favourite new game or a new season outfit.  As long as they are ahead of the crowd they’ll be happy!

Taurus April 20th – May 20th

These people are traditional, comfort loving creatures who are often artistic and creative. They may like a  picture or ornament to decorate their home. They are sensual so a massage should go down well. A trip out to a craft fair to see what other people make and to look at lots of exciting fabrics and materials would also prove popular; so should a day’s workshop where they can get hands on and creative. Suggestions include painting, applique and knitting.

Gemini May 21st – June 20th

Witty and light hearted Geminis are not usually keen on overblown romantic gestures; they can easily regard it as slushy. A poem (assessed for slush) may go down well; maybe one you have written yourself, or if you’d like a ready-made one I suggest the aptly named Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy. They usually have a whole range of interests so a relevant specialist magazine would be a good choice. For a trip out they would like something fast paced and entertaining like a poetry slam or a comedy club would be a good option.

Cancer- June 21st to July 21st

Cancerians tend to be home loving and family orientated with a passion for food. Suitable gifts include a framed photo of both of you together or a cook book so they can practise their culinary skills. A visit to the seaside would make a great day out; Cancerians tend to have an affinity to the sea, even when it is cold and windswept, as long as they can have their creature comforts when they get home!  A browse around a farmers’ market looking at and sampling lots of locally produced food would be good too.

Leo – July 22nd- August 21st

These people enjoy luxury, so a high quality personalised gift would go down well.  This could be bought, such as a bespoke piece of jewellery or something individually crafted by you just for them should hit the spot. They also enjoy being pampered so hair care products are suitable. A  trip to a theatre or a night dancing at a club would appeal to their love of drama.

Virgo – August  22nd- September 21st

Virgos can get a bit tense at times, and are usually practical but with a hidden sensitivity, therefore, something to help them relax would be appreciated. Try giving them organic hand cream or a selection of essential oils. They like to be active so may enjoy a day out cycling in the countryside, or a visit to a garden where they can impress you with their knowledge of plants.

Libra – September 22nd – October 21st

These graceful, sociable people enjoy the finer things in life, they like to look, feel and smell good, so perfume or aftershave would go down well , so would scented candles to give a luxurious ambiance to their home. They enjoy elegance so a trip to an art gallery followed by afternoon tea in a stylish café would be an  ideal way to treat a Libra.

Scorpio – October 22nd-November 21st

Scorpios are renowned for being intense, private and sexy. Valentine’s Day is likely to appeal to their love of drama and mystery. (Is the Milk Tray Man a Scorpio?) They would probably appreciate a good thriller or a pair of glamorous sunglasses which would give them an enigmatic air. A ghost walk would be an appropriate trip out so would a weekend to a mystery destination, particularly if is just the two of you somewhere secluded. It’s probably best to let them know they are going away; they may not be too keen on a total surprise.

Sagittarius November 22nd to December 21st

These freethinkers enjoy learning and travelling. Books usually go down well or any gift from a different and interesting culture. They love going to new places and the journey is part of the fun so a trip away to a new place would be great for them, particularly one where they can learn – a museum  would be ideal. They also enjoy the great outdoors; pony trekking in the countryside should appeal to them.

Capricorn December 22nd to January 20th

Capricorns are not usually overly demonstrative; however, they appreciate practical demonstrations of love such as loyalty and politeness. They like good quality items which will last, such as crystals or warm snugly woollen scarves and jumpers. Plastic hearts and shiny balloons will probably go down like the proverbial lead one. They are likely to enjoy time with you doing interesting things and can be quite adventurous at times. Try taking them to a climbing wall, or if they (or you) don’t have a head for heights then an old historical building with plenty to explore such as a cathedral or castle would be good.

Aquarius – January 21st – February 18th

These individualists are likely to appreciate something different and unusual, perhaps a one off item made by you or a new electronic gadget they have seen online. They like to keep abreast of the new and to be challenged and inspired.  Suitable places to take them would be somewhere unusual like a folly or the latest installation at a science and technology museum.

Pisces – February 19th  – March 20th

Valentine’s Day is likely to appeal to Pisceans, a day of romance and mystery, what could be better for these sensitive souls?   A CD of romantic music or a bottle of their favourite tipple is likely to be a good gift– check this first, but I don’t know many teetotal Pisceans.  Suitable trips out are a visit to an aquarium or an evening at a musical concert.

Have fun

Thursday February 7th 2019

I didn’t get to see the moon last night, but I got to see it tonight, a beautiful slender crescent setting in the West. Yes, I love seeing the new crescent moon, it has an elusive quality and always seems so full of promise.

Wednesday February 6th 2019

Today the moon is in the third day of its cycle around the zodiac. From our perspective here on earth it is moving away from the sun and as it does so it becomes more visible every evening until it reaches full moon which occurs approximately two weeks after the new moon. This month the full moon falls on February 19th. Today it is only one sign ahead of the sun and is still a very slender crescent. It sets at 18.37 and we will be very lucky to see it. As the week goes on it will set later each day and will be easier to see on the western horizon just after sunset. (weather permitting, as ever!)

The sun and Mercury are still in Aquarius and the moon is in kind, gentle Pisces. Astrologically this combination of Aquarian humanitarianism and Pisces sensitivity is a good time to be kind and compassionate to others. Perhaps my family may get an extra chip each at tea tonight if they are lucky! 😉

Monday 4th February

Good morning, wow what happened to the sun ? It’s lashing it down with rain here. Today is the beginning of a new lunar month as we have a new moon. So the sun, the moon and at the same degree of the zodiac and Mercury is nearby, they are all in inventive, humanitarian Aquarius. New moons are a good time to set intentions, what ideas would you like to put into practice this month?

No photo description available.

Sunday 3rd February

I hope you have been enjoying the sunshine today. It’s been beautifully bright here in Norfolk. Today, Venus, planet of love and attractiveness in all its forms moves from jolly Sagittarius into sensible, pragmatic  Capricorn. So this is a time to get serious about what we value and create. Today my hubby, my friend and I have been having our regular creative get together today and this month we are all planning longer terms projects. We often do things we can complete in two hours such as bath bombs or making rings from copper wire. However, last session we decided to focus on longer term projects. I realized to day that this is in keeping with Capricorn which likes to plan and take its time to make something lasting. I am using my time to make some illustrations for my talk to the Astrological Association in June about the goddess Inanna who is associated with the planet Venus. So far I am very much in the planning stage, but luckily I have time to make it happen!

Astrologer’s Diary Sunday 27th January – Saturday 2nd February 2019

Saturday 2nd February

I’m just back from Guist Post office from our meeting of the NAA.We were lucky with the weather because although it is cold and damp we haven’t had any snow so we managed to get together. It went well, we had plenty of chat fueled by tea and cake of course! Thank you Pat for supplying  a great chart, it was of David Icke.

Image may contain: 1 person

Next month, Saturday 2nd March it is Loraine’s turn to supply a mystery person. We will wait her decision and I will post the details when I know.

Friday 1st February

February 1st and here is my horoscope for the month. I hope you have a good one.

Aries  21st March – 20th April
Expect the unexpected as unpredictable Uranus joins up with your ruler Mars for one last burst before it finally leaves your sign. If you’ve been waiting to do something exciting, now is the time.

Taurus  20th April – 21st May
Mid month, go getting Mars enters your sign giving you a boost of energy to get stuck into creative projects. Things can take a while to develop, so keep going because your efforts will bring you positive results.

Gemini  21stMay – 21st June
The new moon on February 4th could have you feeling restless and yearning to travel to pastures new. If you are getting out the travel brochures, check your facts before you make any firm decisions because wires can easily get crossed.

Cancer  22nd June -22nd July
You are thinking big this month, particularly when it comes to the long term, but you may feel a bit confused by all the possibilities on offer. A brainstorming session around the 19th would prove an ideal way of getting some clarity so you can start to plan for the future.

Leo  22nd July- 21st August
Your relationships look like they are entering a new phase. Open and honest conversations will help you see things in a different light, especially when a loved one offers you a new perspective on an issue that is close to your heart.

Virgo  21st August- 21st September
You are in a perceptive mood this month especially around the 19th when the full Moon is in your sign. Trust your intuition and read between the lines to understand what a loved one is really telling you.

Libra  21st September- 21st October
Have you been avoiding a necessary task? Now is a good time to get to grips with what needs to be done. When you’ve finished, don’t forget to reward yourself for all your hard work. It’s great to appreciate a job well done.

Scorpio  21st October- 21st November
A loved one could throw a few surprises your way and encourage you to leave your daily routine behind for a little while. Indulge their spontaneity and go with them, a bit of escapism now and again is good for the soul!

Sagittarius  21st November- 21st December
This is a good time to assess your resources, so check to see what is lurking in the back of your cupboards! You may be surprised by what you find, and once you know exactly what you have, you can decide what to do with it.

Capricorn  21st December – 20th January
Put your chores on the back burner for a while and take some time out to do what you enjoy. Whether this is playing with the kids, going to the theatre, or learning a new craft, just kick back and enjoy; you deserve it!

Aquarius  20th January – 18th February
You are likely to start the month in an open and caring frame of mind. So this makes it a great time to join groups and volunteer to help others. You should get an enthusiastic welcome and a warm fuzzy glow!

Pisces  19th February – 20th March
As your birthday approaches, you look to be in an expressive and persuasive mood. This puts you in an ideal position to get an important message across to other people; so speak out, you will be heard.

Thursday 31st January 2019

It’s the last day of January and we have freezing fog here in Norfolk. We also have the man fitting a new back door on the coldest day of the year so far! Oh well, I’m wearing double socks and it’s not too bad in here at the moment. The good thing is we will have a back door that is easy to close.

Today there is conjunction between the moon and Jupiter in Sagittarius, Venus is also in Sagittarius. They were visible in the early morning sky- weather permitting! Perhaps some of you were lucky enough to see it, we had a job to see to the back fence….

With this configuration emotions may be running a bit high but we should be in a jolly generous mood despite the cold.

Wednesday 30th January

Chiron the healer Centaur is at the last degree of Pisces. It has been slowly moving through Pisces for approximately 9 years and will finally move into Aries on 18th February 2019. Chiron lies between Saturn and Uranus. It takes 50 years to orbit the sun in a very elliptical (uneven) pattern. I am of the generation born with this placement in the 1960s so I and everyone who was born around 1961- 1968 have had a Chiron return recently. This is a time of reassessment and consideration. It is highly unlikely that I will be around when Chiron re enters Pisces in 2061 as I will be knocking on for 100 by then! So this is a good time to make the most of this inspirational, gentle energy before Chiron moves into assertive Aries.

I was lucky enough to finally have a fantastic view this morning of Venus, Jupiter and the waning crescent moon. I’ve been hoping to see Venus and Jupiter in the morning for a while, so now I’m happy! Weather permitting they will be visible tomorrow and the moon is moving closer to them, on Thursday 31st Jan it will be really close so it is worth a look if you can! Look to the South East before dawn.

Monday 28th January 2019

The moon is in Scorpio just past last quarter and waning by the minute. I got a lovely view of it this morning quite low in the southern sky, that was before it rained, sleeted and snowed! With a waning moon in Scorpio, now is a good time to let go of things and have a sort out. My son and I have been going through his extensive book collection to make room for the new. He rediscovered some books which he had forgotten he had and wants to re read and I will be off to the charity shop this week with the ones he no longer needs. 😃

Today Mars planet of action is making a positive aspect to Jupiter planet of action. They are both in fire signs, in fact they are both in their own signs, Mars in Aries and Jupiter in Sagittarius. What do want to do today? Just beware to not get too excitable!

Thursday 24th January 2019

Good morning. It is beautiful here today, I do love a good frosty morning even though my chickens aren’t quite so impressed! Early this morning, mercury, planet of communication moved into the sign of Aquarius and is moving to catch the sun up which is also in Aquarius. So this is a good time to get out and share your ideas with others. With Mercury in Aquarius these ideas could be unusual, and who knows, some of them might just change the world!😉

I’ve booked to go to this lovely friendly show in Holt on Saturday February 16th. I will be offering mini astrology readings and astro card readings. I’m looking forward to it – hope to see you there.

Tuesday 22nd January 2019

Today planet of luck and enthusiasm, Jupiter is conjunct (at the same degree to) Venus planet of love, affection and all things nice. They are both in generous Sagittarius so we should all be in a happy mood. Last week I treated myself to some roses from the supermarket and they are still doing well a week later. What extravagance, roses in January. In astrology, roses are linked to Venus. Have a good day!

Monday 21st January 2019

Uh oh, don’t you just love the British weather!? After that beautiful moon early on last night, the cloud curtains came over Norfolk ! I did get up at 5am – very noisily, I dropped the alarm clock, so I was not popular. Then after all that fuss it was all cloudy and I couldn’t see the eclipse. Never mind! I enjoyed seeing the photos from other people who were luckier than us weather wise.

Astrologically the moon was in early Leo – opposite the sun in early Aquarius. The sun moved into Aquarius yesterday. This axis is about self love and love for others. It is time to express our individuality whilst also finding our place in society- time to shine.

As the sun is now in Aquarius for a month, I’d like to wish all Aquarians a happy birthday for their upcoming solar returns.

Sunday 20th January 2019

It’s the lunar eclipse tomorrow morning, Monday 21st January when the moon turns red. Totality is at  5.11 am GMT and I am aiming to get up to see it, but the forecast is partly cloudy so I may be disappointed, still I will try. I’m also hoping to see Jupiter and Venus rising in the South East. Will I wake up in time and will the weather comply??!

Saturday 19th January 2019

My son and I had a great time tonight, we went Wassailing at Swaffham at the Escape allotment and orchard. It was all a bit of an adventure, as we didn’t know where we were going! We went the long way round in the dusk and were a little bit late as a consequence, but followed the shouting and drumming in to the orchard. It was beautiful , all lit up with lots of lanterns and tea lights in jam jars. We found the wassail and joined in at the back! I put the last piece of bread dipped in apple juice as an offering to the apple trees for this year’s crop. We then made lots of noise to chase away the evil spirits who might steal the apples. An effigy of last year’s goddess was set alight and this year’s goddess, with ample bosoms and belly was filled with apples and wishes for the coming year. We stood round the fire listening to live music. It was great!

I am excited to announce I have a new event coming up here in Norfolk. I am working in collaboration with yoga teacher Gini Harrison at Kelling Studio near Holt. We are having an interactive session on Saturday 23rd March 2019 to tap into the regenerative energy of the Spring Equinox. I will give an introduction to the signs of the zodiac in relation to the year. I will then look at the themes for this year’s equinox. This will be followed by a yoga practice led by Gini tailored towards harnessing the energy to welcome the spring.

Thursday 17th January 2019

Did you know that the days of the week are associated with gods? In astrology, Thursday is associated with Jupiter, he was the Roman king of the gods and the god of thunder. This is reflected in the names for Thursday in the romance ( Latin based) languages. For example, French is Jeudi, Spanish is Jueves and Italian is Giovedi as in Jove, another name for Jupiter.

The English names for the days of the week reflect our mixed (mongrel) heritage. Thursday is ‘Thor’s day’ the Norse god of Thunder.

Jupiter is a lucky planet and Thursday is considered a lucky day. Here’s wishing you some luck today.😃😃

Tuesday 15th January

To all you moon and planet watchers, next week is a good week for observing the sky. You may have heard that we have a lunar eclipse coming up soon, I mentioned it here the other day, but it is worth repeating as it looks to be a good one. This is happening on Monday 21st January. It is visible here in the UK (weather permitting as ever!) but we will need to get up early.

The best viewing time is from 4:41am – 5:43am GMT this is when the moon is covered by the earth’s shadow. It goes a beautiful red, and that is why it is known as a ‘blood moon’. Exact totality is at 05.11 GMT and the show ends at 7.48am GMT. The moon sets at 8.09am GMT so that is good timing as long as the clouds stay away! Also, this moon is a ‘super moon’ as the media call it, this means it is as its closest point, or perigee to use the astronomical term.

As an added bonus, Venus and Jupiter will be rising in the South East early on the 21st and as they move up into the sky should make a beautiful pair, they are very close together. They will be exactly conjunct at the same degree of Sagittarius on Tuesday 22nd January.

Jupiter and Venus are visible early in the morning at the moment and I’ve been peering out of the bathroom window for a few mornings now trying to see Jupiter and it’s been too cloudy. I have seen Venus on a couple of occasions this week, always a pleasure! Here’s wishing for some clear skies for Monday morning in particular.

Sunday 13th January 2019

The moon is in Aries today and is almost at first quarter, it makes its monthly meet up with Mars, the red planet. They are both visible now – it has gone clear here in Norfolk which is good (necessary) for planet spotting. Mars is to the West (right) of the moon.

Thursday 10th January 2018

The waxing moon is now in Pisces, but I don’t think we will get to see her in Norfolk this evening as the weather is very grey and miserable. The sun, (who we haven’t seen at all today) is in Capricorn, sign of business and authority. It is moving closer to Pluto, planet of change and transformation. They will be conjunct at the same degree tomorrow the 10th January. Pluto moves very slowly, it takes 248 years to orbit the sun. It has been moving through Capricorn since 2008. The sun illuminates issues, so it will be interesting to see if anything comes to light tomorrow. Mercury, the communication planet has moved into Capricorn and will catch Pluto up on the 18th January, so look out for news around that time.

Wednesday 9th January

It’s been a stormy day here in Norfolk, I’ve seen two rainbows. The waxing moon is in sociable, freethinking Aquarius until 19.43. I have been making plans about group activities today which are all very exciting! Watch this space for news…

The moon is now visible in the South West, it is setting and will descend below the horizon soon, at 18.37 tonight. So if you would like a peek, pop out now or in the next few minutes before it disappears from view.

Tuesday 8th January 2019

Today, Mars planet of action in Aries is square (making a tense aspect to) Mercury the communication planet. I have been feeling quite scattered today, perhaps that is why it’s taken me until 9 pm to post this. Uh oh, well, I have managed to make some necessary phone calls and emails.
Mercury is speedy so this square lasts around a week and it is good for getting your message across and doing what you keep saying you will. Under this aspect, it can be quite easy to upset people without meaning to, so thinking before you act or speak is a good idea. (something I have to remind myself of!)

Mercury also rules short journeys, so give yourself a bit of extra time as everyone may be in a bit of a rush at the moment!

Today, Venus planet of love, attraction and all things nice is moving into excitable, generous Sagittarius. It moved into deep, mysterious Scorpio in September and had a bit of a backwards dance into Libra throughout November before returning to Scorpio in December. Now with Venus’ move into Sagittarius,  the emotional tempo should change to feel lighter and more upbeat, but watch out for temptation; Sagittarius is not the most restrained of signs! (Speaking as one who knows…😉)

Sunday 6th January 2019

Today, Uranus, planet of change and rebellion turns direct. So now all the planets are direct, this is the first time this has happened for 10 months, 2018 saw quite a lot of retrograde planets, particularly in the summer. So that was a time of delays, backtracking and introspection. Now we can start to look forward!

Sunday 30th December 2018 to Saturday 5th January

Saturday 5th January 2019

We had the Norfolk Astrology Association meeting at Guist Post Office cafe today which went well, we had a go at some mundane (world) astrology and looked at the horoscope of the UK. Our next meeting is Saturday 2nd February 2019 at the same place. Pat is choosing a person for us to discuss! I’m looking forward to getting the details.

Early tomorrow morning we have a new lunar month which starts with a solar eclipse in Capricorn. Eclipses are a time of endings and beginnings. What shall we start this month? 😃

Friday 4th January 2019

I’m really pleased to say that my talk went off well today. Mercury, planet of communication is in my sign, Sagittarius for the last day. It moves into serious Capricorn overnight, it goes in at 3.41 am GMT tomorrow morning. This continues the theme of working towards long term plans. Added to this, we have a partial solar eclipse with both the sun and the moon conjunct in Capricorn coming up on Sunday morning at 1.42 am GMT. The eclipse is not visible from the UK, you need to be in North East Asia or the North Pacific to see it. However, later this month, 21st January there will be a lunar eclipse which will be visible here- weather permitting as ever!

Wednesday 2nd January

Today, the Sun is conjunct (close to) Saturn, they are both in the sign of Capricorn which Saturn rules. So this is quite a serious time. Certainly here in the UK there is a feeling of returning to business as usual after the Christmas period. This conjunction lasts for a few days before the faster moving Sun moves away from Saturn. So this is a good time to get real and to put long term plans into action. This is helped by the fact that Mars, planet of action has just moved Into its own sign of energetic Aries. However, Aries and Capricorn can clash so just remember not to be too harsh on yourself or others!

Tuesday 1st January 2019

Hello Happy New Year to you all! Here are my predictions for January 2019

Aries 21st March – 20th April

On New Year’s Day, energetic Mars moves into your sign, giving you some oomph to accomplish what you want to. This is probably quite a lot. Lucky Jupiter is in your zone of travel and exploration, so thinking big and putting the ground work in should pay dividends.

Taurus 20th April – 21st May

Your career looks to be in the spotlight in early 2019 and promising new beginnings are on the horizon. These may include a chance to learn new skills and gain qualifications. This will require adjustments and effort, but should bring rewards and enjoyment.

 Gemini 21stMay – 21st June

Mercury, planet of communication, moves into your joint finances zone in early 2019. So it is time to be sensible and make sure all your insurances and finances are in order and to get those tax returns in! Once this is done, the end of the month looks promising for travel plans.

 Cancer 22nd June -22nd July

New Year is a great time for resolutions and you may need to set out some ground rules when it comes to relating to others. Speaking to those close to you in a clear, straight forward manner will help you all know what to expect from each other and make life easier all round.

 Leo 22nd July- 21st August

How about having a New Year clear out? Who knows, you may unearth some treasures amongst the junk. The lunar eclipse on 21st January looks a great time to enjoy rediscovering some skills which you have not used for some time.

 Virgo 21st August- 21st September

Have you been thinking of starting a creative project? Well, 2019 is a great time to go for it. Activities involving children would be a fun way of reconnecting to your playful side and relaxing. So, let your imagination run free and get creating.

 Libra 21st September- 21st October

On January 7th your ruler, charming Venus, moves into your communication zone. It looks like you will be popular with friends and neighbours, so expect your social diary to fill up nicely. Check all your messages; you may get an interesting one from far afield.

 Scorpio 21st October- 21st November

You may want to restructure your working day to help yourself and your co workers to be more efficient. Other people could be a little reluctant to change at first; so use your powers of persuasion to convince them. After all, time saving ideas are always worth a try.

 Sagittarius 21st November- 21st December

This New Year is a good time to get to work on what you really value. Knuckling down and setting some structure in place now will pay off. So use your energy wisely to convert your big ideas into something workable.

 Capricorn 21st December – 20th January

Is there a message that you really want to get across to others? If so, now is a good time to speak up, you will be heard. If you ask for help it will be forthcoming, there are people who care and you don’t have to do it all alone.

 Aquarius 20th January – 18th February

This New Year is a good time to remember to have some ‘me’ time; your approaching birthday is a great opportunity to do this. So accept any offers and invitations from others and let them spoil you for a while!

 Pisces 19th February – 20th March

It looks like your friends will feature quite strongly as we begin 2019. Look out for new friendships forming, especially with like minded people. An old friend may suddenly reappear and don’t be surprised if a kindness is repaid.

If you would like to know more, why not contact me for a personalised reading?

Sunday 30th December 2018

With December and 2018 fast coming to a close, it is time to start thinking ahead to 2019. Norfolk Astrological Association’s first meeting of 2019 is on Saturday 5th January at 1.45pm to 3.45pm at Guist Post Office cafe. I don’t know if they will still be in their Christmas finery or not, but they do a good slice of cake! So why not join us for some astrology and a coffee? All interested in astrology are welcome.

Astrologer’s Diary Sunday December 23rd- Saturday December 29th

Saturday 29th December 2018

Today, Mars planet of assertiveness conjuncts (gets up close and personal) with Centaur Chiron the healer. This is a tricky combination, particularly as go ahead Mars is in soft sensitive Pisces at the moment. So we may be feeling extra sensitive and easily upset today. However, there is always a silver lining in that this is good time to look at what we get upset about and why and to be compassionate with ourselves, after all none of us are perfect!

The glyph for Chiron looks like a key.

Friday December 28th

I find that this time of year there is a sense of waiting. The media call this week Twixtmas and it is like that. After all the build up, Xmas is over but the new year has yet to kick in. This year, the waning moon is moving into Libra at 20.22 GMT. Libra is the sign of balance; the sun is there at harvest time, when decisions are being made about what to keep and what to get rid of. It is like that now too, so this is a great time to decide what to keep; that new coat you had for Christmas and what to give away; the old tatty one that it replaces! It can also go for habits , after all the new year is only a couple of days away! 😉

Thursday 27th December

I hope you had a good Christmas and that you enjoyed the festivities over the last two days and that Santa brought you what you wanted. He was very generous here, he brought me a very pretty moon necklace. Thank you Santa, he knows me so well! 🙂
Today the moon is in Virgo making a positive aspect to the sun, so you may feel like having a bit of a tidy up and sort out. We are here; my son is doing his homework, I am very impressed. I am finishing off my astrology writing for Let’s Talk magazine, the deadline is soon. Have a good day!

Merry Christmas to you all. I hope you have a great day. We are ready here, sprouts, carrots and beef ready to roll tomorrow. 😍

Sunday 23rd December 2018

Wasn’t the full moon beautiful last night? It was so bright, I went visiting friends last night and could see quite clearly when I drove home. I did use my headlights though!  It has been very wet here today and is still raining now, so no moonlit trips up the lane for me tonight. Astrologically, the moon is still in its own sign of Cancer. The moon symbolises our emotions and rules Cancer which is a very caring, protective, home loving sign. So this soggy Sunday is a good time to be at home (if you can!) We had some (different) friends visit today, yes I am lucky, I have more than two friends..!  My hubby cooked the Sunday lunch which was very nice and our friends brought pudding, even better! 😍

Astrologer’s Diary Sunday December 16th- Saturday December 22nd

Saturday 22nd December 2018

It’s the full moon tonight! It is rising in the North Eastern part of the sky as I write and is in its own sign of Cancer. So here in the UK it will be up for over fiftteen hours and dominate the sky tonight, as it did last night! The full moons have names, this one has quite a few to choose from; ‘the cold moon’, ‘the moon before yule’, ‘long night moon’ or ‘oak moon’. The sun is now in Capricorn and was up for seven and a half hours and is low in the sky all day. I was lucky enough to get out for a walk and get some daylight which is nice. I know not everyone gets the chance this time of year. I took the Moon photo last night after all the rain, and the sunset photo this evening.

Friday 21st December

Happy Winter Solstice! As I said yesterday, the Sun moves into Capricorn tonight so the wheel of the year turns promising the return of the light. This is is a good time to review and appreciate. Thank you all for following my writings!

Thursday 20th December 2018

Today is the last full day of the Sun in Sagittarius before it moves into the sign of Capricorn tomorrow night at 22.23 GMT. This is the winter solstice when the sun is at its lowest point in the sky.

The word solstice comes from the Latin and means sun stands still. Here in the Northern Hemisphere we know the light will gradually return; a welcome thought! However, I do enjoy the dark winter evenings snuggled by the fire.

I like to decorate the house with evergreen foliage was out today collecting holly and ivy to and put behind the pictures. When it comes to the tree, we cheat a bit and have an artificial one.

Wednesday 19th December 2018

Christmas is fast approaching and today just ran away from me. I went on a big shop and got very excitable with malt loaf for some reason, we now have 5 loaves of varying different sizes and flavours! Oh well my son loves malt loaf so he can happily much his way through them all, he’s got until the end of January.😃😃
My excuses;
1 Jupiter planet of excess is conjunct my sun,
2 I’m getting dafter by the day.
3 Both of the above.

Tuesday 18th December 2018

I saw this event The Moon Exhibition advertised on Facebook, it is at the Moyse’s Hall Museum Bury St Edmunds and runs from Saturday 19th January until  Saturday 9th March. It looks really interesting and I am definitely aiming to go to this in 2019.

Monday 17th December

This week, Mercury, communication planet is moving closer to expansive Jupiter in enthusiastic Sagittarius. They will be exactly conjunct on 21st December. This should bring good news and be quite a fun time, but do watch out for people (yourself and others) being a bit too honest and indulging in a bit of exaggeration.

As those of you who read my page regularly probably know by now, I am a Sagittarius – I have been going on about it recently. As Mercury moves closer to Jupiter and my sun, I’ve been having a communicative day with calls and messages bringing good news and opportunities. 🙂

Sunday December 16th

I’m a bit later writing today as we have come back from visiting my family to exchange presents, I call it doing the ‘Santa run’. So we are getting to feel fairly Christmassy; we had our well loved Xmas CD on in the car! The tree has yet to go up, we will do that in the coming week. My parents’ house West and I made the most of this by peering out of the window in the dark and seeing the moon on her back setting last night- around midnight, quite late for me. It was shimmering behind trees as it set. It added to the festive feel along with the neighbour’s Christmas lights! The moon is now in energetic Aries helping us have a boost of energy to get everything done for Christmas.

Astrologer’s Diary – Sunday 9th to Saturday 15th December

Saturday 15th December

Wow, it really feels like Winter has arrived, the wind was cutting this morning when I went to the village shop. If we are lucky enough to get a clear evening then the moon is in Pisces and close to Mars which is always worth a look. Astrologically, when the Moon and Mars are close together we could feel a bit sensitive and emotional, especially as it is in Pisces. So this is a good time to snuggle up in the warm and watch a weepy movie!

Friday 14th December

Yesterday I had some exciting post; a copy of January’s ‘Let’s Talk’ magazine and I am in it! I am doing a regular astrology feature ‘Star Talk’ where I discuss a sign of the month. For January this is Capricorn as Capricorns are born from 21st December – 20th January. Thank you to Angie and Terry and the Let’s Talk team for including me in their magazine. Astrologically, Jupiter, planet of opportunity and expansion is currently moving through Sagittarius and it is now very close to (conjunct) my natal sun. (The place of sun when I was born) so this is a lucky time for me and all you other Saggies out there.
If you would like to know about how the planets are playing out for you at the moment, I do individual readings. Please contact me for more details.

Thursday December 13th

I said yesterday that Mercury has moved into Sagittarius. If you like planet spotting, it is visible in the early morning just before sunrise. Luckily for me, a sleepy head, sunrise is very late here in the northern hemisphere as it is only 8 days before the winter solstice. If you want to find Mercury, first pick a clear morning! Then if you have the chance between your morning duties, school run, toast making, etc, go outside before dawn. Tomorrow Friday 14th, it is 7.59 in Norfolk (regionally it varies a little bit) look to the East and find Venus. It is very bright and beautiful at the moment. (I’ve been going on about spotting Venus in the morning for a while now, on and off.) Mercury is also bright and below Venus. Also, if you feel like braving the cold, tonight is a good night to go out and look for the Geminids meteor shower. We are very lucky here in Norfolk to have dark skies. Apparently is best to look for them at 2am but you can be lucky and see them earlier than that, they are a bit unpredictable!

Wednesday 12th December

Tonight just before midnight, Mercury moves back into Sagittarius. It was in Sagittarius all of November and spent the first two weeks of December in Scorpio where it turned round and is now moving forward again. Sagittarius is a lively, generous sign but as I have said before it is not too keen on details. So this is good for getting into the party spirit and giving great presents, but do check those pesky details like dates and addresses!

Tuesday 11th December 2018

Hello, it’s a beautiful morning, I love the frosty winter days. It’s not so good if you’re a chicken though! I had to melt the water on my birds’ drinker today and yes, one of them had laid an egg this morning. 🙂
Today Mercury communication planet is in the last degree of Scorpio, ready to move into Sagittarius. There is often a sense of urgency when a planet is in the last degree of a sign. It is forming a grand trine to healer planet Chiron and the Moon’s North Node in Cancer. Venus is making a positive aspect to gentle romantic Neptune in its own sign of Pisces. So today is a good day for communicating about emotions and nurturing relationships.

Chiron the wounded healer went direct yesterday. Chiron was discovered in 1977 and is used by most modern astrologers. Chiron is classified as a minor planet and a comet. It orbits between Saturn and Uranus. It takes 50 years to go round the sun and has a very uneven – elliptical orbit, whizzing through some signs and spending ages in others. Chiron spends a long time in Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac and has been there since 2011. It briefly entered Aries in April 2018 then reversed back into the last degrees of Pisces. It will spend the next few months until March moving through the last degrees of Pisces until it goes into Aries for good- well the next 50 years anyway. The symbol for Chiron is a key and in the Greek myths he was a healer and teacher who helped others unlock their skills and potential.
When Chiron is retrograde it is easy to get stuck in old self defeating patterns- tell me about it! So now it is direct this is a time to release those old habits, if we can. I am trying- yes, very trying says my husband.😉

Sunday 9th December

It is a lovely clear evening here in Norfolk and the new moon is visible. It is a beautiful silver sliver visible in the evening as it now sets after the sun. Tonight the sun set at 15.40 GMT in Norwich and the moon will set at 17:41 , so if you want to see it, pop out and have a look. It is in the South West low in the sky as it is in Capricorn. (Cloud permitting). A new moon is good time to start things and tomorrow I have a lot of reading to do! The new moon from our lane, just about visible in my photo.🙂
