Sunday 23rd February- Saturday 29th February

Sunday 23rd February

Today we have a new moon, which is the time of the month when the sun and moon are together at the same degree of the zodiac. As the sun is in gentle Pisces, so this month’s new moon is in Pisces. This is the last sign of the zodiac and very good at going with the flow. So if you need to release something, now is the time to let it go. With all these storms there has been a lot of enforced letting go, our fence which had been hanging on by a thread, finally succumbed to storm Dennis. So now we will having a new one soon and a new cycle will begin.
New moons are a great time to set an intention, last month at the January new moon in Aquarius I set an intention to be brave. I did, for me being brave is facing a large writing project which I have been avoiding for ages. I have joined a writers group and have tentatively started to get to grips with this project. I also found a lovely lady who runs a new moon group where you set an intention and she drums it in. I went there this morning. My intention this month is to write a chapter of my work so I have that to take to writers group.
So wishing you all a happy new moon. I feel quite upbeat at the moment.

Pisces

Saturday 15th February – Sunday 23rd February

Wednesday February 19th

We are now in Pisces season as this morning the sun moved into this lovely gentle imaginative sign. It joins Mercury the planet of communication so as I said the other day, it is a time to dream and imagine.

Pisces is the twelfth and last sign of the Zodiac, its symbol is two fish tied together swimming in opposite directions. Pisces is a mutable water sign; adaptable and sensitive, Pisceans like to go with the flow and may come across as a bit vague. They are the day dreamers of the zodiac and can easily get lost, either in their own thoughts, on the way to somewhere new, or even both at the same time.

Pisceans are good at tuning into other people and have an instinctual knack of sensing what others need; encouraging and gentle, they often make great teachers. They are kind and giving and keen to help others, be that people, animals or plants. Sometimes they can be too giving, as they usually find it quite difficult to say ‘no’ especially to a sob story.

So I’d like to wish happy birthday to all you Pisces people who will having your birthdays soon. Crack open a bottle or two why don’t you?!

Monday 17th February

Well I am happy to say that we are fortunate here and are still standing and dry. My sympathy goes out to all the people who have had trouble with the storm, such as flooding and no electricity.

Today Mercury planet of communication stations retrograde, meaning that it appears to stay in the same place in the zodiac before it turns and back tracks through the zodiac for the next three weeks or so. It does not actually move backwards, it just appears to from our earth bound perspective. Astrologers call this period Mercury retrograde and it happens when Mercury moves from an evening star to a morning ‘star’. This occurs quite often, three or four times a year. Mercury is an inner planet, closer to the sun than the earth and it moves very swiftly. It only takes 88 days to go round the sun.

These periods of Mercury retrograde can have a bit of a bad press, but they are part of the natural cycle of life. They are times for revisions and going over old ground. Often secrets and revelations come to light under a Mercury retrograde. Be prepared for adjustments and changes of plan. Wires can often get crossed at this time and messages can easily go astray. This is particularly relevant at the moment as Mercury is in dreamy Pisces. The upside is it’s a time to dream, envision and wander.Just make sure you’ve filled up with petrol and charged your phone before you set off on your wanderings!

Sunday 16th February

I hope you are all weathering the second storm in a week; storm Dennis, so far again we have been extremely lucky here in our corner of Norfolk. The wind was wailing wildly last night but it seems to have calmed down a bit at the moment. Apparently it may pick up again this evening, so I think it’s a good idea to keep the hatches battened down!
Today Mars, planet of assertion and force moves from wild, free spirited extravagant Sagittarius into sensible Capricorn. Mars is happy in Capricorn, it is exalted; in its best position. The force and energy of Mars is contained, channeled and used purposefully. So this is an ideal time to focus on your goals and work towards them. As you may know, at the moment there three other planets in Capricorn, sensible but rigid Saturn the ruler of Capricorn, Pluto the god of the underworld and Jupiter planet of expansion. With Mars joining these three we can expect some action. So if you have been putting things off (and I never do that😜😉!) now is the time to take the goat by the horns and do it! This is likely to require courage to over come any fears or blocks that are holding us back. Believing in our ability really helps too, as my Capricorn mother is known to say ‘ faith moves mountains!’ Good luck in your endeavors!

Sunday 9th February – Saturday 15th February

Sunday 9th February

Wow, that week went fast! Today as predicted by the weather forecasters we have storm Ciara. I must admit I do find the windy conditions quite exhilarating. So far we have been very lucky here, a few twigs in the road but we’re still all in one piece! I have been wrestling in my allotment with our compost heaps, yes we have more than one, three to be precise. They are rather ad hoc affairs constructed from old pallets and doors etc. The fronts tend to fall down in the wind so I have set up various props; such as pieces of wood to try and hold them in place..we shall see. I was certainly buffeted around as I tried to do it. I should have been organised and thought ahead. I was impressed by just how powerful the wind is.

We have a full moon in Leo opposing the sun in Aquarius. These two signs are fixed signs and this is a time to express yourself and enjoy being who you are. So whilst the wind is raging outside, how about indulging in a bit of creativity? Mercury in Pisces should help your imagination flow and Venus in Aries will help you put those visions into action! I’m off to spruce up my DM shoes. They are very pretty decorated with lots of flowers but they get a bit lack lustre so every now and again I give them a bit of a touch up with some special leather paints. I hope you all survive the storm in one piece.

I went on a moon search before I settled down to spruce up my shoes. I was rewarded with the most beautiful view of a golden moon floating silently upwards amid the tumultuous roar of the wind in the trees, magical!

Sunday 2nd February – Saturday 8th February

Friday 7th Feb

Today Venus, planet of love moves out of the sign of gentle, adoring Pisces where it is exalted; very happy. It moved into passionate fiery Aries, so now Venus is also in detriment. Venus likes harmony and balance whereas Aries likes direct action. So at this time we may get impatient with others especially our significant other if they don’t do as we would like them to! However on the plus side this is good time to encourage others out of their comfort zone to do something exciting. Or you may be the one who is being encouraged to be brave and bold and do something new in the name of love!

The rose, ancient symbol of love

Monday 3rd February

Today Mercury, planet of communication moves from logical air sign Aquarius into dreamy Pisces. Pisces is a water sign and logical and light,Mercury is in its detriment (uncomfortable) in emotional and sensitive Pisces. Therefore messages may not get through clearly and confusion can easily set in at this time. However, looking on the bright side, it is good time for inspired ideas, visions, dreams and letting your imagination flow. Just don’t believe everything you are told!

Sunday 2nd February 2020

Today is Imbolc, the pagan festival of early spring. We are now half way between Yule- the winter solstice in December and the spring equinox in March. It is a lovely time of year, so full of promise when we can see the light returning after all those dull grey days. This year everything is so early, there are loads of beautiful snowdrops every where and the daffodils are in bud in our garden. Yesterday on my way to the village shop I spotted snowdrops and aconites nestled together in the verge.

The Celtic goddess Brigid is celebrated and honored now. She is a fire goddess, linked to inspiration, healing and poetry. She is also godddess of all smiths, goldsmiths, silversmiths and blacksmiths. What passions are burning in you right now?
