This morning Mars, planet of action moved into peace loving Libra. Mars is not particularly happy here, Mars is the natural ruler of the sign Aries which is Libra’s opposite sign. When a planet falls in its ruler’s opposite sign astrologers say that the planet is in detriment. Mars wants to act fast and directly whereas Libra wants to negotiate, consider or even please the other person. So this is a time to be patient with ourselves and to fight to correct imbalance and injustice.
Thursday October 3rd
The planets are on the move (as always) but today Mercury planet of communication is moving into secretive mysterious Scorpio. Along with that, Pluto planet of rebirth and transformation and ruler of Scorpio moves direct. It has been retrograde- appearing to go backwards since April of this year. This is a time of revelations and discussions of serious matters where secrets may come to light offering an opportunity for analysis and healing.
So if you have important issues to discuss now is a good time to do so. However, a word of caution, consider what you say carefully because once something is said it cannot be unsaid! I am a Sagittarius and it has taken me quite a few years to get the hang of that one!
Sunday 29th September
We are now in a new moon cycle, there was a new moon in Libra yesterday evening- Saturday 28th September. New moons occur every month and are times of new beginnings. In keeping with the Libra theme, this a time of balance and adjustment. It is often a time of harvest and with harvest comes work and decision making!
We have been busy this weekend, dodging the rain storms and collecting and processing fruit. Our neighbour very generously let us pick some of his pears and cooking apples and we have been chopping and slicing. We decided to cook and freeze the apples and to slice and dry the pears. We have a dehydrator- one of my Gemini husband’s gadgets and we have been drying pear slices to add to cereal. They are lovely and the house smells very autumnal at the moment. I do enjoy this time of year harvesting and preserving. It will be green tomato chutney time soon!
The sun moves into Libra today, so happy birthday to all you Libras! Here is my Star Talk article about Libra which is in this month’s issue of Let’s Talk.
Sunday 22nd September
The autumn equinox yoga and astrology morning went off well, thank you to the ladies who came along to join us. I do love going to Kelling yoga studio, it is such a beautiful place. The autumn equinox is happening tomorrow, Monday 23rd September, this is when the sun moves into the astrological sign of Libra. The sign for Libra is the scales. So it is a good time of year to consciously decide to include a bit of grace and harmony into our lives. I am trying, very trying as my husband says! 😉.
Today, Saturn , planet of responsibility, rules and regulation goes direct. Saturn is the last planet visible to the naked eye and so until the discovery of the telescope which led to the discovery of the outer planets , Saturn was the last planet. So it is often seen as the gatekeeper, the place where the buck stops! Saturn is all about reality. Since April 30th this year, Saturn has been going retrograde – appearing to go backwards and now it is starting to move forward, so this is a time for reality checks and consolidation. It is a time to step up to the plate and take responsibility for what is happening in your life!
Today is a day for good communication, Mercury planet of communication is conjunct Venus planet of love. They are together at 28 degrees of Virgo, the sign of analysis before they move into Libra tomorrow. So it’s a good time to find the right words to say to someone. How about leaving (nice) little messages for your friends or loved one to find? It’s also a good time to enjoy working with others.
Thursday 12th September
Have you seen the moon recently? We’ve had a few clear evenings over the past week or so and it has been putting on a lovely show. It is waxing at the moment and I have been really enjoying watching it gradually increase in size night after night. It will soon reach its peak; full moon is at 05.32 BST on the morning of Saturday 14th September. So watch out for it this evening and tomorrow evening. This full moon falls in Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac and it is opposite the sun in Virgo. We have a Pisces full moon every year around this time and the Pisces Virgo axis is about service. Both of these signs are very giving. However, they are opposites and Virgo is very analytical and detail orientated whereas Pisces is dreamy and can be vague at times. Full moons are when issues come to light, so this week end’s full moon may bring up feelings to be analysed and sorted out.
Today is the first of September and autumn is approaching. The first day of Autumn this year is Monday 23rd September- the autumn equinox when the sun moves into Libra and we have equal nights (approximately). This is a time of reflection, to look at what we have harvested over the months since the spring and decide what we we need to take with us into the winter months.
If you would like to connect to this energy of balancing and adjusting at harvest time there are still some spaces available at our Autumn Equinox yoga and astrology morning.
The details are-
