Sunday 25th August to Saturday August 31st

Friday 30th August

Today we have a new moon. This is the second new moon in a calendar month which happens occasionally. The last new moon was in Leo on the 1st August and this one is in the following sign of Virgo. New moons happen every 28 days when the sun and moon and earth all line up together. They signify new beginnings and are good time to set intentions and remind ourselves of what we need to do. As the sun is in Virgo, this new moon is in Virgo, so now we have 3 planets and the two luminaries (sun and moon) all in Virgo

As I have been saying for the past week or so, Virgo is the sign of detail, it is also the sign related to health and cleanliness, so it’s a good time to make adjustments to our habits to improve our both physical and emotional health. Anyone for fresh home grown veg?

Thursday 29th August

This morning a fourth planet moves into the sign of Virgo, this is Mercury the messenger. Mercury is an interior planet – it is situated between us and the sun. When viewed from earth, it is always quite close to the sun, the furthest it can be is 28 degrees. So mythologically it is the messenger keeping the king informed as to what is happening. Mercury rules the sign of Virgo and works really well there. This is a great time to get into the details and to work out what needs to be done, to write letters and lists.. So if you want to do some planning in a methodical and organised way, now is a good time to do it! I am planning and preparing for an exciting jointly run workshop in November- watch this space…!

Sunday 18th August – Saturday 24th August

Friday 23rd August

Today at 11.03 am BST the sun moves into Virgo and joins Mars and Venus in Virgo. This gives us plenty of precise, careful, hardworking energy. So happy birthday to all you Virgos, I hope you can take a little rest to enjoy your up coming birthdays! Here is my article about Virgos in Let’s Talk September 2019 issue.

Wednesday 21st August

Today, another of the fast moving planets moves into careful precise Virgo. This is Venus, planet of love, traditionally Venus is in fall in Virgo, so it is not totally comfortable here. Venus wants harmony and beauty and Virgo wants precision and perfection. Venus in Virgo is shy, hardworking and may not always tell you that she cares, but she shows it in little ways. So now is a time to show our love to those close to us by thoughtful gestures and to cut them a bit of slack and hold our tongue and not to expect them to be perfect!

Monday 19th August

Have you felt a shift in the air? It feels more autumnal to me, the evenings are getting chillier and damper. The faster moving planets are starting to move from summery Leo into Virgo. Mars planet of action and passion was the first to go, it moved into Virgo yesterday, Sunday 18th August.
When Mars is in Virgo he takes off his party hat, puts on the rubber gloves, rolls up his sleeves and gets down to the nitty gritty. It is a time to get the work done and pay attention to those niggling jobs that you’ve been meaning to do for ages. I’m biting the bullet with school uniform checking and buying, it looks like I’ve been feeding my son too well, he’s outgrown pretty much everything uniform wise. Off we go to the shops to join all the other parents and their enthusiastic children.😉

Be aware that when Mars is in Virgo we can feel quite niggly as we want everything just right, we can also get caught up with all the little details and forget the bigger picture. So it is worth looking up from our work once in a while just to check that we’re still on track. I know this only too well, I have Mars in Virgo in my chart, so I’m pickier than the average Saggittarian. ðŸ˜‰

Sunday 11th August – Saturday 17th August 2019

Thursday 15th August

Tonight we have a full moon in Aquarius. I have just been scuttling off down our lane ‘moon hunting’. My husband says it’s not too difficult, perhaps that’s why I was successful! ðŸ˜‰ The full moon in Aquarius is opposite the sun in Leo. These are both fixed signs, Leo is an expressive, creative sign and Aquarius is in individualistic sign. Aquarians are often ahead of the pack and are the rebels of the zodiac. They are also humanitarian and objective. So this full moon is a good time to express your individuality and enjoy being who you are!

Wednesday 14th August

Today Venus, planet of love and beauty makes a conjunction to the sun. Inanna, the ancient Sumerian goddess is the Sumerian version of Venus the goddess of love. The Sumerians knew the cycles of the planet Venus and linked them to her myths. The eight pointed star is the symbol of Inanna.

Sunday 11th August 2019

Today Jupiter, planet of expansion, hope, belief and luck turns direct in its own sign of Sagittarius. It has been moving backwards for quite a while now, since April 11th 2019. So for the last four months you may have felt that your ideas and big dreams may not have been moving as smoothly as you would have liked. However, because of this you may have the time to reflect on your beliefs and grand plans.
Now Jupiter is moving forwards and making a trine- a positive easy flowing aspect to the sun (our creative expression) and Venus, attraction and love in confident, fun loving Leo. This makes it a great time to be generous, both to ourselves and to others. So if you’ve been wanting to do something that you love, its’ a good time to make that leap of faith and believe in yourself. Just remember to have a a reality check every now and again- Jupiter in Sagittarius can get carried away!

Sunday 4th August to Saturday 10th August 2019

Saturday 10th August

We had a great day today and I was really excited because we went to the British Museum in London and saw The Queen of The night relief. This is a clay tablet of a Sumerian goddess, no one knows exactly who she is, some (like me) think she is Inanna, others that she is Lilith. She’s definitely sexy, powerful and bigger than I thought! I made my own copy to illustrate my talk about Inanna, so it is great to see the original.

Sunday 4th August

Yesterday was the monthly meeting of the Norfolk Astrological Association We had a lovely afternoon yesterday discussing astrology in Pat’s beautiful wood. We were pleased to welcome four new people to the group. Thank you to Liam for providing us with two very interesting charts those of the launch of Apollo 11 and the engineer Wherner von Braun who built the rocket Saturn 5. Thank you too to Pat for your generous hospitality which included lots of tea and nice cake😍

There will not be a meeting in September as most of us are busy that weekend. Our next meeting will be Saturday October 5th. The theme is yet to be decided. I will post on here when we have decided what it will be.

Sunday July 28th to Saturday August 3rd

1st August 2019

Today is the Pagan festival of Lamas or ‘loaf mass’, the harvest of the first fruits. If you are a gardener – like me then this you will probably be busy harvesting. We are fortunate enough of have a good crop of mini cucumbers which are running rampant in the poly tunnel. We also have quite a few courgettes and green beans. We’ve had masses of gooseberries which we had to fight the birds for. Here in rural Norfolk the farmers are flat out working to get the harvest in, I could hear the combines whirring away in the distance last night.

Wednesday July 31st

Tomorrow, Thursday 1st August is quite busy astrologically, firstly, we have a new moon in Leo. I like new moons, they signify the beginning of a new lunar month. They are good time to set intentions and remind ourselves where we are going and what we want to do. I need reminders, especially as I am now a lady of certain (forgetful) age! Leo is the sign of confidence, creativity and courage, so if you have been wanting to express yourself, now’s a good time to be brave and go for it!

Added to this, Mercury, planet of communication comes to the end of his retrograde period. this is when mercury appears to go backwards. This can be a time of confusion, delays and mixed messages. It is also a time for revelations and remembering. My mum had a clear out in her airing cupboard and discovered a load of family pictures that had been lurking there for years. That was quite a nice surprise, I had wondered where they had got to!

So for those of you who dread Mercury retrograde, it is almost over, only a few more hours to go. mercury goes direct at 04.57 am tomorrow morning so this is a time to look and move forward.
