Astrologer’s Diary Sunday 24th February – Saturday 2nd March

Saturday 3rd March 2019

Today we had our March meeting of the Norfolk Astrology Association. It went well and we discussed the birth chart of Rosa Parks the American civil rights activist who famously refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery Alabama on 1st December 1955.

Our next meeting is the first Saturday of April which is Saturday 6th April at Guist Post Office cafe. We will discuss a person chosen by Liam.

Friday 1st March 2019

Today is 1st March and St David’s Day! I lived in Wales when I was younger and it is always a day of celebration. The daffodil is the symbol of Wales and there are some out in my garden, they are of the short but perfectly formed variety!¬†ūüėČ

Today, Venus, planet of beauty and attraction moves from serious Capricorn into community minded Aquarius. It is time to appreciate our friends and the groups we belong to. So thank you to all my friends and to all of you who support me and read my astrology blogs. I am looking forward to the astrology group tomorrow.

Wednesday 27th March 2019

Today was yet another beautiful day, this weather is amazing! Yesterday February 26th I saw my first Brimstone butterfly of 2019 on our allotment. Brimstone butterflies are bright yellow and they hibernate overwinter. They are generally regarded as one of the first signs of Spring as they wake up when it gets warm enough to fly.
My hubby and I went to Bury St Edmunds today as I wanted to see the exhibition on the Moon at the Moyses Museum. We had not been to that museum before; it is in a very attractive building with a rather dark past. It was the jail at one stage and there was quite a bit about law and order including shackles and a gibbet.
However, I was a bit disappointed about the moon exhibition as it was mainly about the moon landings. There was a space suit and a selection of 50 year old unappetizing space food. There was also a moon phase clock; it was correct too!
These were interesting, however, there was nothing at all about the symbolism of the moon, as advertised, which was why we went! Oh well, we had a good day out and got to see the Cathedral and the Abbey gardens and had a nice lunch and the weather was glorious so all was not lost.

Tuesday 26th March 2019

March is nearly upon us so here is my monthly horoscope for March 2019.

Aries ‚ôą 21st March – 20th April

You are entering a new long term phase as Uranus leaves your sign to make way for Chiron the healer. This is the time to take a deep breath, slow down and appreciate the good things in life, such as your friends, the new season and your birthday.

Taurus ‚ôČ 20th April – 21st May

Uranus the awakener enters your sign on March 6th so if you have fallen into a rut, stand by Рit’s time for a shake up. Make plans, as although they are likely to change, at least you will have a strategy in place and won’t be caught napping.

Gemini ‚ôä 21stMay – 21st June

A new phase in your career requires adjustments and your usual approach may not work, so you need to be adaptable. Try trusting your gut and following your instincts; things will work out, but maybe not quite as you’d planned.

Cancer ‚ôč 22nd June -22nd July

This month your thoughts could be drifting towards freedom and adventure. So enjoy letting your imagination wander to dreams of distant shores. If you want to make them a reality, you’d best book that holiday.

¬†Leo ‚ôĆ 22nd July- 21st August

With the warmer weather on its way, you may feel in a sociable and outgoing mood. This is a good time to dust down your maps, get your sat nav charged up and go to visit those friends who haven’t seen for a while; they will be pleased to see you.

¬†Virgo ‚ôć 21st August- 21st September

Your finances are in the spotlight this month, a review and some adjustments may be required. Remember to look at joint financial matters too, as they could be beneficial, but make sure you scrutinise the details closely before you commit to anything.

 Libra ♎ 21st September- 21st October

If you have been feeling a bit out of kilter, the full moon in your sign on the 21st will help to shine a light on what needs to change. Working in close quarters with a significant other will help you to restore your balance so you can feel more energised and ready for the spring.

¬†Scorpio ‚ôŹ 21st October- 21st November

Around the new moon on the 6th your creative projects will receive some much needed inspiration. Being open to innovative ideas and thinking them through thoroughly will aid the process. Following this through with steady effort will yield the results you require.

¬†Sagittarius ‚ôź 21st November- 21st December

It is worth curbing any impulse you may have to rush off at the drop of a hat. Instead, take time to look at the bigger picture and appreciate your achievements and the people who support you. It may be that you already have more than you realise.

Capricorn ‚ôĎ 21st December ‚Äď 20th January

Don’t be surprised if siblings or neighbours come knocking on your door. Offer them a cuppa, a sympathetic ear and have some tissues at the ready. Your calm, reassuring presence may be just what they need to get back on track.

 Aquarius ♒ 20th January Р18th February

You could be quite in demand socially as your accepting nature is always welcome, so get out and have a bit of fun. With an eye on the longer term, your ruler Uranus moves into Taurus so look out for changes especially in your routines and home life.

¬†Pisces ‚ôď 19th February ‚Äď 20th March

A new phase is beginning for you and it looks good. You may find yourself acting as the messenger this month, bringing hope and inspiration to others. So lead them to a happy place where they can forget their troubles for a while.

Sunday 24th February

Today I made the most of yet another lovely day and went digging in one of our compost heaps and spread compost on one of our veggie beds. I’m a bit of a compost queen! Amongst the rather nice compost I found all sorts of goodies; a tea spoon, two plant labels and some really manky socks. A couple of years ago I tried composting socks; it doesn’t work! I’ve given up on that idea and don’t do it any more.

Astrologically, the moon is waning (getting smaller) and is in Scorpio, the sign of regeneration and hidden treasures so it’s a great time to be digging around in compost heaps!

This afternoon hubby and I went to East Runton , it was lovely, beautifully warm in the sun, it was a bit chillier in the shade, but much warmer than the other weekend! I hope you all had a good day too.

Astrologer’s Diary Sunday 17th February – Saturday 23rd February

Saturday 23rd March 2019

What a beautiful day it was again today. It seems that everyone I know has been working in their gardens. So I did make a start with my allotment and started digging out some of the soil in my polly tunnel so I can move the compost heaps around.

Today Venus, planet of beauty is conjunct Pluto, planet of transformation and change. They are both in the practical earth sign of Capricorn. So this is a good time to assess what we have and decide what we want to do with it. It is a good time for a clear out, for as the old saying goes, one man’s junk is anther man’s treasure. Meanwhile I will continue digging in my allotment to see what treasures I can dig up, apart from bindweed roots of course! No photo description available.

Friday 22nd February

I put my new litter picker to good use yesterday afternoon and I am really impressed with it. It is very nimble, great for collecting fiddly bits and squashed cans.  I collected almost a bin bag full of litter after going on a circular route starting from our lane. I went back through our village and was impressed by how little litter there was there. Most of it seems to be lurking in the rural lanes.

Thursday 21st February 2019

I was very excited today. Some would say sad. I had a present from my hubby, a litter picker stick! Hooray.

In one way this is not good because in an ideal world I would not need one as no one would drop their litter. However, in the real world I do need one because people do drop litter.

I was thinking about how litter picking ties back to Tuesday’s full moon in Virgo opposing all that Pisces. Virgos like things to be tidy and also like to help and both Pisces and Virgo are good at serving others.

Litter is one of my long standing bug bears, I remember going round our village when I was a kid picking up litter, yes I’ve always been a bit odd!

I am a Saggittarian born in the mid sixties with Uranus and Pluto in Virgo. They are both planets of change and as they are slow moving they influence whole generations of people. In addition to this, I have Mars, planet of action in Virgo. Perhaps this is my way of expressing my need to change and improve my environment. I can’t wait to try out the litter picker and have a good mutter into the bargain!!No photo description available.

Wednesday 20th February 2019

Yesterday’s full moon in Virgo opposed the Sun in Pisces, so the themes for this time are about analyzing what we need to let go of. Virgo is a very analytical and practical sign and Pisces is about acceptance and release. Mercury rules Virgo and is the planet of communication. At the moment Mercury is in Pisces conjunct (next to) Neptune which rules Pisces. Mercury is in detriment and fall in Pisces (it is not very happy) but the up side is that Pisces and Neptune are good at letting go. So it is best to trust our instincts and let go of that which we know is not working for us and to do it with Piscean gentleness and compassion -if we can!

Tuesday 19th February 2019

Good morning. Did you see the moon last night? Wow, it was so bright here in Norfolk; riding high and proud in Leo. It is full this evening, the exact time is this afternoon at 15.53 GMT. It is still moving through Leo at the moment and moves into Virgo at 14.48 GMT. So the full moon will be in Virgo. Here in the UK (London) it rises at 17.11, a few minutes before sunset. So weather permitting it should be a beautiful sight.

Monday 18th February

Today we have two changes astrologically;  firstly, Chiron the healer changes signs. Chiron is a Centaur, it is a comet and a minor planet and it orbits in an uneven elliptical orbit around the sun between Saturn and Uranus. So astrologers often see it as a bridge between the traditional and the unusual.

Today it leaves gentle, sensitive Pisces where it has been for the last 8 years. It makes its move into go getting Aries, where it will stay for the next eight years. I have mentioned this before as it first entered Aries last year then returned to Pisces for a few months, now it is in Aries for the next eight years and won’t return to Pisces until 2061.

Chiron in Aries is about asserting ourselves and being courageous.

Also today the sun moves into sensitive gentle Pisces leaving humanitarian Aquarius. This is a time to embrace possibilities and go with the flow. Mercury, planet of communication is already floating through Pisces. So for the upcoming month, happy birthday to all you Pisces, I know one who is having a special birthday tomorrow!¬†ūüėć

Saturday 16th February

I had a good time at Holt Mind Body Spirit Fair. It was my first Spiritual Flow fair of the year and it was lovely to meet up with old friends again and to meet some new people too. I had some new astrology reading cards for Christmas and they went down well.

I will be offering mini astrology readings and astro card readings.I’m looking forward to it, it’s my first fair of 2019. I hope to see you there.

Thursday 14th February

It’s Valentine’s Day. Wishing you a day when your heart’s desires come true! I’d like to share this Valentine’s Day card with you. It is from artist LIzz Lunney who my husband follows. She has been doing a series of Zodiac cards and this Valentines one is her most recent.

Today in astrology, Mars planet of passion and drive, is moving from his own sign of go getting Aries into the steadier, sensual earth sign of Taurus. Time to slow down and smell the roses Рor maybe hyacinths this time of year!

Wednesday 13th February

Good morning, today Mars, planet of assertion and action and Uranus, planet of rebellion and surprises are both at the 29th degree of Aries. This is the last degree and astrologers call this the anaretic degree. When planets are at this degree, there is a sense of urgency and tension. as they are about to move to the next sign. Mars is going into Taurus tomorrow and Uranus moves into Taurus on 6th March. Added to this, Mars and Uranus are an impulsive and unpredictable combination. So expect the unexpected today and if possible, allow yourself a bit more time than usual to respond to what is happening and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Good luck. I’m off to do a talk ‘Zip Round the Zodiac’.

Tuesday 12th  February 2019

Wasn’t it beautiful this morning? Frosty mornings always remind me of one of my favourite poems; The Horses by Ted Hughes.

I was introduced to it at school when I was about fifteen and it has always stayed with me.

Ted Hughes, The Horses

I climbed through woods in the hour-before-dawn dark.
Evil air, a frost-making stillness,

Not a leaf, not a bird –
A world cast in frost. I came out above the wood

Where my breath left tortuous statues in the iron light.
But the valleys were draining the darkness

Till the moorline – blackening dregs of the brightening grey –
Halved the sky ahead. And I saw the horses:

Huge in the dense grey – ten together –
Megalith-still. They breathed, making no move,

with draped manes and tilted hind-hooves,
Making no sound.

I passed: not one snorted or jerked its head.
Grey silent fragments

Of a grey silent world.

I listened in emptiness on the moor-ridge.
The curlew’s tear turned its edge on the silence.

Slowly detail leafed from the darkness. Then the sun
Orange, red, red erupted

Silently, and splitting to its core tore and flung cloud,
Shook the gulf open, showed blue,

And the big planets hanging –
I turned

Stumbling in the fever of a dream, down towards
The dark woods, from the kindling tops,

And came to the horses.
There, still they stood,
But now steaming and glistening under the flow of light,

Their draped stone manes, their tilted hind-hooves
Stirring under a thaw while all around them

The frost showed its fires. But still they made no sound.
Not one snorted or stamped,

Their hung heads patient as the horizons,
High over valleys in the red levelling rays –

In din of crowded streets, going among the years, the faces,
May I still meet my memory in so lonely a place

Between the streams and the red clouds, hearing the curlews,
Hearing the horizons endure.

Sunday 10th February

Wow, that was a windy, lively day yesterday. My hubby and I threw ourselves into a bracing ( very cold) walk on Weybourne beach. I was really appreciative to get back to our cosy car, warm flask and sandwiches, we are true Brits you know! Or has he says, old farts!¬†ūüėČ

Today, Mercury planet of communication is moving into dreamy imaginative Pisces. Astrologically, Mercury is fast and light and likes to analyse so it is not happy in Pisces which is intuitive and instinctual. So confusions and misunderstandings may occur. However, the upside is that this is a good time to use your imagination and intuition and go with the flow.

Astrologer’s Diary – Sunday 3rd February- Saturday 9th February 2019

Saturday 9th February

Valentine’s Day¬† is fast approaching, it will be here on Thursday 14th February! So why not use astrology to help you find a gift for your loved one?

No photo description available.

Valentine’s ideas Рthrough the zodiac

Aries – March 20th – April 19th

These folks are usually active and like to be first, they also enjoy excitement; so how about something adventurous like a day or a trip to a theme park to embrace their inner child and scream like a girl on the big rides! If they are not quite so outdoorsy they may prefer a shopping trip to get the first edition of their favourite new game or a new season outfit.  As long as they are ahead of the crowd they’ll be happy!

Taurus April 20th – May 20th

These people are traditional, comfort loving creatures who are often artistic and creative. They may like a ¬†picture or ornament to decorate their home. They are sensual so a massage should go down well. A trip out to a craft fair to see what other people make and to look at lots of exciting fabrics and materials would also prove popular; so should a day’s workshop where they can get hands on and creative. Suggestions include painting, applique and knitting.

Gemini May 21st – June 20th

Witty and light hearted Geminis are not usually keen on overblown romantic gestures; they can easily regard it as slushy. A poem (assessed for slush) may go down well; maybe one you have written yourself, or if you’d like a ready-made one I suggest the aptly named Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy. They usually have a whole range of interests so a relevant specialist magazine would be a good choice. For a trip out they would like something fast paced and entertaining like a poetry slam or a comedy club would be a good option.

Cancer- June 21st to July 21st

Cancerians tend to be home loving and family orientated with a passion for food. Suitable gifts include a framed photo of both of you together or a cook book so they can practise their culinary skills. A visit to the seaside would make a great day out; Cancerians tend to have an affinity to the sea, even when it is cold and windswept, as long as they can have their creature comforts when they get home! ¬†A browse around a farmers’ market looking at and sampling lots of locally produced food would be good too.

Leo –¬†July 22nd- August 21st

These people enjoy luxury, so a high quality personalised gift would go down well.  This could be bought, such as a bespoke piece of jewellery or something individually crafted by you just for them should hit the spot. They also enjoy being pampered so hair care products are suitable. A  trip to a theatre or a night dancing at a club would appeal to their love of drama.

Virgo –¬†August ¬†22nd- September¬†21st

Virgos can get a bit tense at times, and are usually practical but with a hidden sensitivity, therefore, something to help them relax would be appreciated. Try giving them organic hand cream or a selection of essential oils. They like to be active so may enjoy a day out cycling in the countryside, or a visit to a garden where they can impress you with their knowledge of plants.

Libra –¬†September 22nd – October¬†21st

These graceful, sociable people enjoy the finer things in life, they like to look, feel and smell good, so perfume or aftershave would go down well , so would scented candles to give a luxurious ambiance to their home. They enjoy elegance so a trip to an art gallery followed by afternoon tea in a stylish café would be an  ideal way to treat a Libra.

Scorpio –¬†October 22nd-November 21st

Scorpios are renowned for being intense, private and sexy. Valentine‚Äôs Day is likely to appeal to their love of drama and mystery. (Is the Milk Tray Man a Scorpio?) They would probably appreciate a good thriller or a pair of glamorous sunglasses which would give them an enigmatic air.¬†A ghost walk would be an appropriate trip out so would a weekend to a mystery destination, particularly if is just the two of you somewhere secluded. It’s probably best to let them know they are going away; they may not be too keen on a total surprise.

Sagittarius November 22nd to December 21st

These freethinkers enjoy learning and travelling. Books usually go down well or any gift from a different and interesting culture. They love going to new places and the journey is part of the fun so a trip away to a new place would be great for them, particularly one where they can learn Рa museum  would be ideal. They also enjoy the great outdoors; pony trekking in the countryside should appeal to them.

Capricorn December 22nd to January 20th

Capricorns are not usually overly demonstrative; however, they appreciate practical demonstrations of love such as loyalty and politeness. They like good quality items which will last, such as crystals or warm snugly woollen scarves and jumpers. Plastic hearts and shiny balloons will probably go down like the proverbial lead one. They are likely to enjoy time with you doing interesting things and can be quite adventurous at times. Try taking them to a climbing wall, or if they (or you) don’t have a head for heights then an old historical building with plenty to explore such as a cathedral or castle would be good.

Aquarius –¬†January¬†21st¬†– February 18th

These individualists are likely to appreciate something different and unusual, perhaps a one off item made by you or a new electronic gadget they have seen online. They like to keep abreast of the new and to be challenged and inspired.  Suitable places to take them would be somewhere unusual like a folly or the latest installation at a science and technology museum.

Pisces –¬†February 19th¬†¬†– March 20th

Valentine‚Äôs Day is likely to appeal to Pisceans, a day of romance and mystery, what could be better for these sensitive souls? ¬† A CD of romantic music or a bottle of their favourite tipple is likely to be a good gift‚Äď check this first, but I don‚Äôt know many teetotal Pisceans. ¬†Suitable trips out are a visit to an aquarium or an evening at a musical concert.

Have fun

I didn’t get to see the moon last night, but I got to see it tonight, a beautiful slender crescent setting in the West. Yes, I love seeing the new crescent moon, it has an elusive quality and always seems so full of promise.

Wednesday February 6th 2019

Today the moon is in the third day of its cycle around the zodiac. From our perspective here on earth it is moving away from the sun and as it does so it becomes more visible every evening until it reaches full moon which occurs approximately two weeks after the new moon. This month the full moon falls on February 19th. Today it is only one sign ahead of the sun and is still a very slender crescent. It sets at 18.37 and we will be very lucky to see it. As the week goes on it will set later each day and will be easier to see on the western horizon just after sunset. (weather permitting, as ever!)

The sun and Mercury are still in Aquarius and the moon is in kind, gentle Pisces. Astrologically this combination of Aquarian humanitarianism and Pisces sensitivity is a good time to be kind and compassionate to others. Perhaps my family may get an extra chip each at tea tonight if they are lucky!¬†ūüėČ

Monday 4th February

Good morning, wow what happened to the sun ? It’s lashing it down with rain here. Today is the beginning of a new lunar month as we have a new moon. So the sun, the moon and at the same degree of the zodiac and Mercury is nearby, they are all in inventive, humanitarian Aquarius. New moons are a good time to set intentions, what ideas would you like to put into practice this month?

Sunday 3rd February

I hope you have been enjoying the sunshine today. It’s been beautifully bright here in Norfolk. Today, Venus, planet of love and attractiveness in all its forms moves from jolly Sagittarius into sensible, pragmatic¬† Capricorn. So this is a time to get serious about what we value and create. Today my hubby, my friend and I have been having our regular creative get together today and this month we are all planning longer terms projects. We often do things we can complete in two hours such¬†as bath bombs or making rings from copper wire. However, last session we decided to focus on longer term projects. I realized to day that this is in keeping with Capricorn which likes to plan and take its time to make something lasting. I am using my time to make some illustrations for my talk to the Astrological Association in June about the goddess Inanna who is associated with the planet Venus. So far I am very much in the planning stage, but luckily I have time to make it happen!
